Dirty Dozen & Clean Fifteen

Are you looking to buy more organic foods, but think it’s too expensive? Well you typically get what you pay for, but if you are looking to keep the food budget in a reasonable range, then check out the “Dirty Dozen” and “Clean Fifteen” list.

The Dirty Dozen is a list of food that you SHOULD buy organic, because they absorb the most pesticides and chemicals. Typically the softer the shell on the fruit or vegetable, the more it will absorb what’s applied to it. So you can probably guess that the Clean Fifteen is a list of fruits and veggies that you don’t have to buy organic.

These lists are updated annually as they are working towards making our produce more clean every year, but it takes time to clean up all of those crops and farms. Anyways, here are this year’s Dirty Dozen and Clean Fifteen rankings:
